Hen pie (under $5) enough food to feed the band
Ingredients: 1cheap hen from the supermarket and a packet of flat pastry. The method: Unwrap the bird and throw it into a preheated oven once the bird is cooked, take off the legs and have a snack.. Then with the remainder of the bird wrap it in pastry and put it back in the oven until the pastry forms a nice crust around the hen and presto a hen pie is created. |

Mince soup and apricot pie
Ingredients: 1 mince pie, brown sugar and a can of apricots. The method: Take a fresh mince pie, lift the pastry off the top of the pie and then scoop all of the mince out and place it into a pot of boiling water, simmer the mince and hot water gently until the aromas fill the house and then serve in a bowl with a side of toast. With the remainder of the pie take a can of apricots and fill the base of the pie, sprinkle some brown sugar over the apricots then take the pie and put it under a grill for 5 minutes until it sizzles. Feel free to serve to your flat mates and you will be asked to give up the guitar and become a chef. |
